My Future School/Classroom

Everything in a classroom traveling through the sky
1.Krissy Venosdale's Blog: I love how creative Krissy Venosdale is. Especially the tree house in the library idea! What kid would not want to read in a tree house? School needs to be fun for children and her idea for a school does just that. Please build a school now Krissy Venosdale! Who would not want to go to a colorful exotic place to learn ? NO ONE:). I also LOVE the idea for a student decorating each teachers parking sign...WONDERFUL!! 2. Sugata Mitra: Build a School in the Cloud: Sugata makes some really good points in his video about how things used to be and how things are now. The world how we used to know it is over, done, finished. Technology is changing the world so much. His "Hole in the Wall" experiment is remarkable. It is amazing what children will teach themselves when actually given the opportunity. I agree with him when he makes the point that knowing is obsolete. I also love his granny cloud joke, LOL! His cloud school idea is AWESOME. No matter where you are in the world you can learn. 3. My classroom when I start teaching will be in an elementary school, second grade. There will be beautiful colors everywhere, as expressed by Krissy Venosdale. Each student will help decorate the wallpaper so they will feel important.
A.) What do I want my students to know? * I want my students to know that it is okay to have fun and learn at the same time. I want their experience in my classroom to be one that they will never forget!
B.) What do I want my students to be able to do? * I want my students to be able to understand every subject and go beyond what they think they cannot do. They will learn to operate technology and use it to their advantage.
C.) What will be my primary way of teaching my students what I want them to know and do? * My primary way of teaching will definitely be visual learning. It is a fun way for students to learn. It is how I know most of what I know and I want to show that to my students.
D.) What tools will I use in my classroom? * Whatever is available! I pads, movies, smart board, arts and crafts. I want to make learning fun for them and will do whatever is necessary to accomplish that!
E.) What role will students play in my classroom, how will they participate? * We will do online games for every subject. Each student will take turns telling what they have learned. We will also have outside games to get students involved with nature!
MY FUTURE CLASSROOM = AMAZING:)!!

  1. Malary, we have so many of the same ideas for our future classrooms. I agree with you about having bright colors all around the room and making the students understand that they can have fun while they are learning. I love using visuals in the classroom, because I know students all learn in different ways but visuals always seem to help me better understand what is being taught. I love your idea of having the students be a part of decorating the wallpaper so they feel important and involved in the classroom. Like you, I loved all of Krissy's ideas!! I do agree that it is important for children to learn on their own and teach themselves when the opportunity arises as Mitra states.
